About Bailey

Hello! My name is Bailey Gillis and I hail from the great state of Minnesota! I come from a family of 2 wonderful, loving and supportive parents and a younger brother who’s definitely one of my best friends. I graduated from North Dakota State University in December of 2019 with a degree in Biological Sciences, focusing on Environmental Science. I loved my time at NDSU; The Lord seriously blessed me with so many research and connection opportunities in my field and he has given me a passion to learn about and protect the world around us. But he has also given me passions elsewhere and I believe he is calling me elsewhere for the time being.

After graduating I set off to Central America for 7 weeks with an organization called World Race. Along the way I spent 3 weeks at PCA and I absolutely fell in love with the people there! There was an instant connection I felt; a love I had that didn’t make sense outside of the explanation that it could only have come from God. Others on my team and at PCA noticed too, and encouraged me to consider coming back. Through a lot of prayer and discussion, I made the decision to spend a year in Palacaguina as an English teacher, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Aside from school and family, I love being with people, playing and listening to music, reading fantasy books, drinking a good cup of coffee, and doing anything outside.
