BLESSED NEW YEAR

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” — James 1:2-3

2020 will go down in the history books for many reasons.  Our prayer is that we will not focus on the trial and tribulations we faced, but on the blessings and victories we experienced and the perseverance we developed because of those trials.  We have a choice.  Let us choose to be positive and think of all the good things we were able to accomplish in 2020.  We pray you are able to see all you have done just in Palacaguina and know that 2020 was a year of opportunity for many people to see the experience and feel the love of Jesus Christ.

These 27 students will be continuing their education at PCA for 1st grade next year.  We are so proud of our students reaching this big milestone with PCA.  Looking forward to seeing the bright and beautiful future being made possible through your faith, love, and incredible generosity.

SAVINGS AND LOANS

Changing a Generation is the PCA Vision.  In everything we do, we work with this vision in mind.  This year PCA employees started a savings and loan fund with incredible results.  Not only are they learning the value of savings and investing, but the program is opening doors of opportunity they have never had before.  Taking a loan from the fund and paying back with interest builds not only fiscal responsibility, but also their savings.  We are very proud of our teachers and all they are doing to grow.  What are they using the money for, let me share just a few examples:

One teacher borrowed $170 to start a personal business

One teacher borrowed $320 to purchase land for her home

One teacher borrowed $100 to get an eye exam and glasses

One teacher borrowed $250 to change her home floor from dirt to concrete

One teacher borrowed $300 to construct a kitchen area in her family home

Amazing the opportunities they are creating to improve their lives and the lives of their families.

FAREWELL 2020

blank

As a farewell to 2020, we provided a special December blessing to each worker and their families of PCA.  Each employee received a gift of food and home supplies from PCA which will help them through the holiday season and allow them to further bless their immediate families.  We are always grateful to be generous and touch the lives of PCA workers whenever we are able.

KITCHEN/CAFETERIA PROGRESS

It is incredible to see how this project is coming to fruition.  This month we have completed the major construction of the building and are transitioning to finishing the work required to make the kitchen functional.  Due to the generous donations of our partners and one individual donation of $25,000 we will be furnishing the complete kitchen and plan to have it fully operational before the next school year begins in February.  The ability to prepare and serve the students from our own cafeteria is such an amazing milestone and blessing for PCA.  Thank you to all who are making this dream a reality!

2021 PROJECT GOALS

Thank you for your prayers and giving to continuing making the schools physical growth a possibility!

This next year we have the following projects on the horizon for PCA:

Finish the kitchen/cafeteria and begin operation in February

Begin construction on our 5th/6th grade building

Expand our roofing and paving projects for the school

Paint PCA to be a brighter and more beautiful school

Finish our sidewalks and awnings

SPECIFIC, ONGOING FUND RAISING GOALS

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Please continue to pray for God to open doors for sponsorship of our students and the completion of our important construction projects needed to finish building the school.
  • Please pray for Bailey’s trip to PCA on January 8th.
  • Please pray for trips and travel to the school for groups in 2021.
  • Please pray for January hiring, training and preparations for the 2021 school year.

PCA SPONSORSHIP

We have many students still unsponsored at PCA.  We strive to never turn a child away due to not having a sponsor, but the budget challenges for having many students unsponsored are difficult.  Consider sharing the opportunity to sponsor one of our students with friends or family.  Only $40 a month sponsors a child and provides a uniform, books, a daily meal and access to an education and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
