Cristopher Caleb Mairena Gonzalez
Cristopher is a beautiful 3-year-old boy who is currently a student at PCA, in the initial education stage.
This month we are highlighting him because of his unique family and home life. Cristopher is a child deeply loved by his family: his uncles, cousins, mother and grandmother, are always waiting with him before school on the school bus as well as when he returns home after school. At home he lives with his mother Tomasa Irela González Rizo, (Tomasita) as well as his grandmother Amanda Rizo, affectionately known as Amandita, throughout the city of Palacagüina.
What makes Cristopher’s family special is both his parents are deaf, meaning all their communication is in sign language. At this time, his father is unable to live with him as he has traveled to Costa Rica in hopes of finding work. Additionally, his aunt Ulda, aunt Ruth, and uncle Pedro Joaquin (Picho) are deaf and living in the same home with Cristopher Caleb.
At his age, Cristopher Caleb is learning to communicate orally with hearing people at PCA and in sign language with deaf people at home.
We thank God for the opportunity he gives us to serve students in Palacagüina, changing a Generation. We also thank the sponsors who lovingly give their contributions to sponsor each PCA student.
All of this provides a safe environment for unique families to bring their children to PCA.
But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
